Corona Virus Information

 

When WHO (World Health Organisation) or the government of the country of where the hostel is located or furthermore you are in another country but can not travel to your hostel due to there being a global pandemic or national pandemics such as 2020 Corona Virus  (2019 -NCOV) where countries are been locked down and travel is restricted due to a disease or virus.

 

The Hostel must:

a) Ensure that you can book in the same type of room or have a credit to book at a further date 2 years from the expected date of arrival. 

 

b) If you can not use your credit then you are allowed to give your credit to another person to use the booking as long as the person that books the room or bed(s) is the same eg 2 males can not use the booking that was meant to be for 2 girls for a dorm room. The person using your credit must also follow the hostel's rules when staying there.

 

c) If you wish to ask for a refund then you can be refunded (for "full payment only"). You will be refunded in full for the portion going to the hostel but the portion that is classified as the deposit can only be used as a credit for your next stay at another property booked on Hostel Movements site. 

 

You need to provide documentation that your travel was halted or prevented due to a global or national pandemic. 

 

We must be flexible as well as the hostel and furthermore, if you wish to receive a refund then the Hostel accepts that in a situation where full payment bookings are involved the normal cancellation policies are different. 

 

(d) HM and the Hostel accepts that when a pandemic like Coronavirus (COVID-19) that non-refund bookings that are full payment you can rebook the same type of accommodation at the hostel at a later date for the same type of room providing there is availability the hostel can not suddenly say no if there is availability displayed online if the rates for a different date then they still must honour the same rates excluding public holidays such as christmas holidays or easter weekend etc. You should try and give as much notice as possible to be fair on the hostel even if you are hoping for travel changes to allow you to travel please notify the hostel of possible issues so that they are aware of potential issues in advance but with the changes in global travel restrictions and easements quickly it may not be possible. 

 

You must provide proof that your travel has been prevented.

If this travel notice was made public more than 1 week prior to the booking or the restriction was still in place with one week prior to check in date of booking and should be  notify the hostel 6 days or less due to your expected arrival date that they are unable to come then the same rules apply with non-refund eg the backpacker can not have a refund.

 

But when restrictions are put in place instantly by the government or any international authority or a country that you are travelling from and or you are travelling to and is due to arrive within 7 days of your booking then the hostel must be flexible and willing to accept that (d) applies which is HM and the Hostel accepts that when a pandemic like 2019 -NCOV that non-refund bookings that are full payment and you can rebook the same type of accommodation at the hostel at a later date for the same type of room providing there is availability the hostel can not suddenly say no if there is availability displayed online if the rates for a different date are. You should try and provide as much notice as possible but with the changes in global travel restrictions and easements quickly it may not be possible.

 

HM has the right to change the terms of this Coronavirus (COVID-19) but what ever terms were most recently updated here in "Coronavirus Information Section" at the time of your booking will remain, futhermore if the terms were different when you booked and on a different day then what ever terms were published here on the day you book applies. E.g if you viewed our site on 1/1/2021 and the terems where adjusted on 5/1/2021 then whatever the adjusted terms are made on or prior to 5/1/2021 that are the most recent changes become applicable to yur booking.
